Lake Gogebic
Lake Gogebic is the largest inland lake in the upper peninsula of
Michigan with over 13,000 acres of prime fishing waters. Lake Gogebic is
well known for walleye, small mouth bass, pike and some of the biggest
perch you will ever catch. Click map to enlarge.
The million-acre Ottawa National Forest and the 21,000 acre Sylvania
Wilderness surround the lake area affording all kinds of habitat for
wildlife. Besides small game and a variety of birds, the area is well
known for deer and bear.
The Lake Gogebic area is heavily wooded so fall color tours are
spectacular. With upwards of 300 inches of snowfall each year, some of
the best snowmobiling in the U.P. is found here.
